Back At It for 2019-20

Here we are!  Back at is and enjoying the start of our second week at BHS for the 2019-20 school year!  Last week FLEW by with so many questions and forgotten information - which is how the beginning of EVERY school year goes:)!!  This year I hope to accomplish a number of things and one is Blog related:

1.  I would like to "show case" ONE new teacher thing EACH WEEK!  Whether it's a teacher here that is doing something new that I haven't blogged about, or something I find that will be inviting for teachers, I will post one new a week!

2.  I will also try to post something FUN AND EXCITING that I have read about, discovered, stole from someone, etc....

Last week was busy finalizing all things JAMF, Schoology, Google Education, etc.  This week will tend to be some of the same, in addition to filing all iPad paperwork, wiping out last year's users, and getting the Kindergarten iPads ready for distribution and brought over to them!

Resources Compiled for COVID-19

I LIED!!! I TAKE THE THANK YOU TO APPLE BACK:(!!! UGH!!!

  All went well yesterday after we had done the Apple Configurator update - here were a few that we had to put into recovery mode, etc... which wasn't GREAT- but worked alright.  Students had to put in email address again as well as Schoology, no big deal.  Some lost their camera roll pictures - not the TOTAL end of the world.  But TODAY - 5 kids have LOST EVERYTHING!!! UGH!!  I don't do ANYTHING different with these iPads that I don't do with the others that have worked fine - so WHY?????????????  A senior girl and a freshman boy lost EVERYTHING!  It COMPLETELY WIPED their iPads and reinstalled ALL again - WHY???????????  I want to call Apple but I am TOO MAD to call as I wouldn't be anything tactful at all - so I sit and ponder what it might be - maybe I should use another word than Ponder, I guess they're throwing him back in next week, huh??:):)  I just don't know what to do.  AND the part that gets me the MOST is Apple KNOWS that schools across the country

More on Cyberbullying

Here's some more information regarding Cyberbullying to check out.  It's QUITE scary to think about all that children have to deal with nowadays!  The instant EVERYTHING - UGH!!  BUT, we as teachers, role models and parents can help and try to stay proactive.  Here is another link by Wiz Case to check out: A Comprehensive Cyberbullying Guide for Parents The more informed we are - the BETTER off we are as a whole.  This is such a tough and unfortunately never ending topic - good luck with this and PLEASE PLEASE share anything you have, anything you know, and keep your eyes out for all kiddos:)!!
