Google Photoscan - Another Treat:)!!

I learned about Google Photoscan from TIES this year and I LOVE LOVE IT:)!!  You are probably like me and have a TON of photos with NOT digital negatives.  I bought myself one of THESE (or something like it): thinking that - HEY - I am going to scan ALL my negatives and ALL my photos to get these digital - HASN'T HAPPENED YET!!  Well, no worries ANY MORE!  Google has come out with an app called Google Photoscan !  All you have to do is have the PHOTO that you want to make digital.  You simply use your camera on your phone or iPad and follow the four dots on the screen to screen cast the entire photo and it's digital!!  BRILLIANT!!!  I have used it BRIEFLY only - but the photos are TOTALLY fine!!  WAY easier and WAY less time than trying to scan old negatives and photos! Again, WORTH. YOUR. TIME! Happy Tuesday, Mrs. I:)

Garrison's Faves!! Again, I always think that I totally have a handle on things and know some - but I NEVER DO!  You will NOT be disappointed with this one! Happy Monday all Mrs. I:)

TIES 2016 ALWAYS a Success:)!!!!

I KNOW that this is hodgepodge, but here are my notes from the TIES 2016 conference in Minnesota that I attended last week!  It was amazing as always, and my focus this year was on coding and maker space.  However, PLEASE check out the link as all the presenters have their information uploaded to the site.  They only keep it up for a month or so - so make sure you take advantage while you can! Session I - Computer Science: Kids Can Code : bit.ly/akties16 *2007 iPod touch came out – taught in classroom with set of iPod Touches *started creating and having kids make videos and recording voices, etc … *”My Unfair Advantage” – we had them and I used them *Move from simply interacting to creating games and technology Why can’t computer science be taught to ALL our students – technology is our future STEM problem – a lot of people going into STEM field but NOT computer science          -What is it?   How do I get students doing it?            -Twitter – Google

GoGuardian for Chromebooks

Here is Barnesville, we are iPads 1:1.  We are now fully implemented into JAMF Nation and JSS software, and have started playing with Apple Classroom .  WE ARE IN LOVE WITH IT! Well, don't get me wrong - there are glitches that we are having to work through before we ALL go live with it.  Currently I have Mrs. Askegaard at the elementary school, and Mr. Strand at the high school, using it with their classes.  However, GoGuardian offers the SAME thing for Chromebooks.  In a nutshell it basically gives you access to every student's technology device. You can see what each student is using his/her device for instantaneously. You can even see what they are doing at home if you chose to, as it generates reports for every website/app used and the time the kiddos used it. Another thing that is super awesome is you can push out a website that you want every kid to be on, but don't want them to take all day to type in the correct URL, with a single click.  Activity
