I have been digging back into my Google Drive and have rediscovered some GEMS - check them out;)
1. Unite for Literacy - This website has books that are easy to access and can be read to your kiddos. Easy to use and super friendly!
2. Mentimeter - If you have ever wanted to give a poll to an audience, classroom, etc.. and see immediate and interactive responses then this is for you. Create a presentation, choose your questions type, then choose present and you will see a code for them to go to the website and punch in. Responses will start showing real time. Check it out -
3. The Kid Should See This - There are always those students you have every year in your classroom that are curious in nature. They want to learn and learn and absorb more. This site would allow for some of that. Search by content area or just search by category. The videos found on here are pretty neat!
4. What's Going on in This Picture - Each week the New York Times posts an intriguing picture for students and readers to think about and use inferencing skills to figure out what the photo might be about. What a great way to get students engaged in discussion, use it for journal entries or writing topics - the ideas are endless!
I have MORE to share - BUT will get back another day -
Make it a great Tuesday night,
Mrs. I:)
