Google Internet Safety - I Just Love Them MORE:)!

DID YOU KNOW THAT GOOGLE CREATED ITS OWN INTERNET SAFETY CURRICULUM? WELL I DID NOT!!!!!!  Oh - seriously I just keep loving this company up more and more!

SO if you know already - WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME!??  If you are like me and did not know HERE IT IS!!

Be Internet Awesome is the online curriculum/real life curriculum that Google created and of course it's FREE!!!  There is a free download to their actual curriculum, but there is also this amazing online experience called Interland for kids to play online.  They jump to different "land" experiences that teaches them about online safety, being kind online, being smart online and keeping personal things to themselves - I LOVE IT! 




If you have nothing in place yet, START HERE!  Similar to Common Sense Media, it's ALREADY created for you and SO SO GREAT!!

I LIED!!! I TAKE THE THANK YOU TO APPLE BACK:(!!! UGH!!!

  All went well yesterday after we had done the Apple Configurator update - here were a few that we had to put into recovery mode, etc... which wasn't GREAT- but worked alright.  Students had to put in email address again as well as Schoology, no big deal.  Some lost their camera roll pictures - not the TOTAL end of the world.  But TODAY - 5 kids have LOST EVERYTHING!!! UGH!!  I don't do ANYTHING different with these iPads that I don't do with the others that have worked fine - so WHY?????????????  A senior girl and a freshman boy lost EVERYTHING!  It COMPLETELY WIPED their iPads and reinstalled ALL again - WHY???????????  I want to call Apple but I am TOO MAD to call as I wouldn't be anything tactful at all - so I sit and ponder what it might be - maybe I should use another word than Ponder, I guess they're throwing him back in next week, huh??:):)  I just don't know what to do.  AND the part that gets me the MOST is Apple KNOWS that sc...

More on Cyberbullying

Here's some more information regarding Cyberbullying to check out.  It's QUITE scary to think about all that children have to deal with nowadays!  The instant EVERYTHING - UGH!!  BUT, we as teachers, role models and parents can help and try to stay proactive.  Here is another link by Wiz Case to check out: A Comprehensive Cyberbullying Guide for Parents The more informed we are - the BETTER off we are as a whole.  This is such a tough and unfortunately never ending topic - good luck with this and PLEASE PLEASE share anything you have, anything you know, and keep your eyes out for all kiddos:)!!
